Internatonal Exchange Concert(国際交流コンサート)

5/22。コンサート当日。このコンサートは国際交流コンサートという名目もありますが、もう一つ大切ことが……実はグランツパス高校は翌週金曜日には卒業式が行われる予定で、最上級生にとってこのコンサートが最後となるのです。そういった思いをも相まって、準備からずっと感動の瞬間がありました。
一部はグランツパス高校の吹奏楽＆JAZZバンドによるステージ。そして、二部が私たち慶誠高校吹奏楽部の単独ステージでした。その後は、両校の合同演奏。曲目は私たちの十八番「YMCA」と昨年、熊本県立劇場で一緒に演奏したYOASOBIの「アイドル」。
会場のボルテージは徐々に上がっていき、本当にホール内の気温が上昇しているのではないかと思わせるほどの熱いステージとなりました。
May 22 – Concert Day
This concert was not only an international exchange event, but also had a special meaning—it was the final performance for the seniors at Grants Pass High School, as their graduation is scheduled for next Friday. That made every moment, from preparation to the end, even more emotional.
The first part featured the Grants Pass High School Concert and Jazz Bands.
The second part was a solo performance by our Keisei High School Band.
Then, we performed together in a joint stage, playing our signature piece YMCA and Idol by YOASOBI, which we had also played together in Kumamoto last year.
The energy in the hall kept rising, and it truly felt like the temperature inside was going up—it was a passionate and unforgettable night.
コンサートチケットは、前日までに完売していたそうで、現地に在住の日本人の方も複数名いらっしゃいました。しかもお話をよく伺ってみると熊本出身の方も！顧問の二人と同級生という偶然も重なりとても驚きました。
コンサートは7時にスタートして、終了したのは22:00過ぎ…演奏終了後は、グランツパス高校の皆さんと私たちで観客の皆様をお見送りました。
涙を流されながら、帰路につく方が本当に多くいらっしゃってこちらもとても嬉しくなりました。
たくさんの「Thank you」「Amazing」を頂きました。
The concert tickets were sold out by the day before, and several Japanese residents living locally attended. Surprisingly, some of them were from Kumamoto! It was even more amazing to learn that they were classmates of our two band advisors.
The concert started at 7 p.m. and ended after 10 p.m. After the performance, we, along with the Grants Pass High School students, saw the audience off.
Many people left with tears in their eyes, which made us very happy.
We received lots of “Thank you” and “Amazing” from the audience.
